A bit about me...

My name is Chrissy Henderson. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I had 7 years of teaching experience before becoming a stay at home mom with my 3 children. After 10 years of being out of the classroom, I decided to return when my youngest started school. I am currently teaching 5th grade at Mobile Christian School. I love the teaching profession and seeing the students light up when they learn new knowledge and succeed in the classroom. I believe there is no other job with greater joy than training our future generation to become capable adults who can succeed in our world.

Google Tools

This is the resource I probably use the most. When in doubt about anything, you can always research with Google. I think it is the most useful and beneficial source for all teachers. I love the free tools and links that it provides. There are countless presentations and documents available. I also enjoy the chat room it provides for teachers with the I Google approach.

Podcasts

I love the podcast approach to education for several reasons. It is easily done and inexpensive to do. Not to mention,it can be lots of fun! It is an excellent way to share and receive information with others about selected topics in education.

Blogging

I have learned such much about the latest technology through blogging. I have learned many new ideas to incorporate within my classroom through blogging. I love the blogging approach because it provides a way o mentoring others and being mentored myself. It is an accountable partnership with other educators. It is a free way enhancing my education, so that I may be a better teacher to my students. Blogging can be private pr public and can be accessed anywhere in the world. Through blogging, teachers can post classroom assignments and support material for parents and students. Students can also get involved

Smartboards

Smartboards are an interactive and digital board used through the computer. It is basically an extension of the computer. With this, you have endless things in which you can do with your students. You can even incorporate sound. It also allows you an unlimited number of pages, so you can easily refer back to things if needed while teaching. It is also a great way for students to get involved with the teaching.
